CENTRAL FLORIDA LAND & DEMO
Polk County · Central Florida
Frostproof sits at the southern end of the Lake Wales Ridge, and the land tells you so: high, sandy, well-drained ground with grove and pasture country around a small town core. Most of the clearing here is on working or retired agricultural ground — groves that stopped being worked, pasture gone to brush, and acreage somebody wants opened up, fenced or prepared to build on. It is rural work, and parcels are measured in acres. Ridge sand drains fast, which makes it good ground to work on year round, and it grows palmetto, scrub oak, dog fennel and young pine quickly wherever it is left alone. On retired grove ground, volunteer growth comes up between the trees once the rows stop being worked, and the understory closes in from the edges. Mulching is the usual answer on this ground: the material goes back into the soil, the surface left behind can be mown and worked, and there is no haul distance on a long rural drive. Work here is usually about structure as much as clearing — fence lines reopened, ranch lanes and gate positions cut, a pad graded for a barn, a shed or a homesite, and access established before anything else happens. Where the trees are worth keeping, clearing is selective around them, with the understory, dead wood and volunteer growth taken out and the kept trees left standing. Ground near the lakes and ponds on this side of the county can carry frontage worth opening up, and clearing bank growth back from the water is work we do. Work inside a regulated protection area, and the environmental permitting around one, is not something we take on. Access and distance are the local factors: long drives, gates, and occasionally soft ground after heavy rain. We look at the property before quoting because both change the job.
The work is grove ground, pasture and rural acreage — clearing, mulching, fence lines, lanes and pads for homesites and outbuildings.

Retired grove on ridge sand, with volunteer growth between the rows and understory closing in. Mulched and left mowable, with the kept trees standing.
Pasture returned to palmetto and scrub on this ground. Fence lines reopened to full width, gate positions graded and the pasture brought back into use.
A homesite cleared out of the brush, a pad graded for the build and a driveway corridor cut in through the timber.
A long parcel where the access has to exist before anything else. Lane cut and gate position graded first, then the block cleared, with the material mulched on site rather than hauled the length of a rural drive.
It follows the ground: how many acres, what is growing on them, whether the trees are staying, how far the machinery has to travel in, how much material leaves the site and whether lane, fence or pad work is included. Tell us about your property and we'll come back with a real number — no obligation.
For most land clearing, brush hogging and mulching, no permit is typically required. Demolition is the exception: that work is carried out by our demolition subcontractors, and permits are procured when needed. We're insured.
Yes — it is most of what we do here. Where the trees stay, the understory, dead wood and volunteer growth come out and the kept trees stand; where the ground is leaving groves altogether it is cleared as a block and the material mulched or hauled.
Yes. Pasture taken over by palmetto and scrub is mulched or cut back to usable ground, and fence lines, lanes and gate positions are opened at the same time so the property can be fenced and worked again.
Yes. Clearing the homesite area, grading a pad and cutting in a driveway are ordinary work on these parcels, along with the access needed to get equipment in and out.
Yes, with a 24/7 line for storm work. Office hours are Monday to Saturday, 9 to 5; the storm line is separate and staffed around the clock when a storm has come through.
